Mood Lighting With Modern Chandeliers

By Helene Conti

While the mention of chandeliers brings up pictures of lots of hanging crystal, modern chandeliers are made from numerous other materials. Originally they were mainly hung in big foyers and dining rooms to create a formal effect. But, they're now used in almost every room of the home.

Manufacturers are creating beautiful chandeliers made of everything from brass and chrome, to plastic and wood. With so many different styles available, from country chandeliers to classical there's a perfect chandelier to accent your existing decor. And, lot's of styles even come with sconces that will carry the theme over to your walls.

While design and size are certainly basic factors to consider when purchasing a chandelier, you should also consider how it will be used. If you already have ample lighting, a chandelier can be used to create an atmosphere in the room. But, if it's going to be the source for the rooms light, then look for designs that feature multiple bulbs.

All light fixtures are made to provide light, but chandeliers can do so much more than just light up your room. When added to a dining room, they can create both casual or formal affects depending on the style that you choose. But, they're also being used to add romance to a bedrooms decor.

Both dining rooms and foyers are still very popular places for installing chandeliers. Whether your dining area is contemporary or very formal, a chandelier can add so much to the look. And, the decor of a foyer is important since it's the first glimpse guests or visitors get into your homes interior.

They're very easy to install and are one of the easiest ways to change the entire atmosphere of your room. No matter what your decorating style is, there's a chandelier that can help you draw it all together in a pleasing way.
